CD I don't have the catalog, but I just spoke with Ken. He is selling Welcome Back My Friends for $38.00, however, he said there is a late-November American release scheduled for a list of about $27.00, which means he will be able to sell it for about $22.00, so people may want to wait. Of course, he'll sell it now for $38.00... I asked him about any ELP on the BBC Live releases and he said that ELP is one of the groups announced (there are about 300 discs being produced). So you *do* have something to look forward to... FYI - Gentle Giant, ELP, Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention, several Genesis and many others on BBC Live - should be interesting. Here's the address [of the place referred to as having Welcome Back above-ed.] : Progressive Records 103 Decoto Road, Suite C Union City, CA 94587 425-487-7888 Suegene ------------------------------ Subject: 1974 California Jam concert videos... Date: Tue, 29 Oct 91 14:53:53 EST From: arnold@xero.cbm.dec.com I was at a laser disc store in Boston today (Laser Craze) and saw a Japanese import laserdisc of Deep Purple's set at the 1974 California Jam concert. This is the same concert that Emerson, Lake & Palmer played at. Over a series of weeks in 1974, major portions of this concert appeared on ABC's `In Concert' program. This sighting seems to indicate that there is hope that ELP footage from this concert will eventually emerge. I have asked the store where I saw this disc to ask their import source to see if an ELP-equivalent disc is available. I'll keep the digest posted. - John - ------------------------------ From: ECKMAN@DOBSON.LARC.NASA.GOV Subject: Keith Emerson's 'Inferno' on CD I recently contacted a mail-order company to check on the availability of Keith Emerson's "Inferno" soundtrack on CD. The person had one in stock but was reluctant to sell it to me since he said that he had received information that this was a dub from vinyl. He hasn't personally listened to the disc. I wonder if anyone who has the CD version could comment on the quality of the disc. As I already have the vinyl release, I'd be hesitant to purchase a CD which took the vinyl as its source. Thanks for any information. [... - ed.] I have quite a substatntial RUSH collection but the only ELP I have is one that I made from ELPowell. I am willing to trade or send tapes. The ELPowell is from Great Woods in Mansfield MA, it is an A+++ recording of the entire show and is one of my best recordings. There must be some boots out there!!!!!!>????????
