ELP Digest Wednesday, 23 April 1997 Volume 7 : Issue 7 The "Boney Vegetables" Edition Today's Topics: "Boney Vegetables" - Keith Emerson on Rifff Latest info from Impressions Magazine Prelude ======= Hi. A quick issue for a few special annoucements. Thanks to Will Alexander and his contacts at the Microsoft Network, ELP Digest readers are able to get a free 30-day trial of MSN and Rifff in time to participate in Keith Emerson's appearance on the MSN Rifff show in mid-May. Also, there's a new issue of Impressions Magazine out and Liv wanted me to pass the work on. I've heard that the ELP 1997 European Tour will start on June 20 in Vienna. I'm trying to keep the "News" section of the ELP web site up-to-date with tour dates as they're announced. So, please send me mail if you hear/see a particular date mentioned that isn't already on the list. And, of course, the new Greg Lake Anthology 2-CD set was released last week (in the USA, at least). It includes some of the harder-to-find ELP appearances (e.g., part of ELP's appearance at the Mar Y Sol Festival in the early 70s) as well as some unreleased work Greg had done between ELP stints. Till next time, - John - ------------------------------------------------------------ From: John Arnold Date: 4/23/97 Subject: "Boney Vegetables" - Keith Emerson on Rifff Hi. After disucssions with Will Alexander (Keith's manager) and Larry Sisson (an Artist Relations Director of the Microsoft Network), I am pleased to pass along the following announcement from the Microsoft Network. In essence, ELP Digest readers can get a 30-day free trial to the Microsoft Network and Rifff in time for Keith's appearance on MSN's Rifff appearance in mid-May. Read on: "Rifff, the interactive music series on the Microsoft Network, is proud to present Keith Emerson this May 16-23! Hear and interact with "Boney Vegetables," a Keith composition crafted specially for this new medium. In the Rifff studios, you'll be able to influence and re-arrange the sound of Keith's work, and see it set to a revolutionary new kind of "music video." (It's directly interactive, too!) To see the show, though, you've got to be a member of MSN. But not to worry -- all you've got to do is call 1-800-FREE-MSN and request a gratis MSN-startup CD-ROM, which will make you an instant member for one month free. It'll also get you access to Rifff's online chat with Keith on Thursday, May 22, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. PST. Sometimes it takes a while for the MSN CD to arrive, so you'd be best off calling as soon as you're able. We hope you will enjoy the show!" Thanks for Will and Larry for making this promotion possible! - John - ------------------------------ From: estazz99@intonet.co.uk Date: Sun, 20 Apr 1997 08:13:04 -0700 To: arnold@dartmouth.coordinate.com Subject: Impressions Issue 3 of IMPRESSIONS has been released and features an exclusive interview with Carl Palmer, as well as extensive tour reports from U.S.A.
