Just a few quick note today. A full Digest will be out soon. But there's time critical information here (content only available until Friday, 09 January. - John - =========================== Breaking News, Rumors, Etc. =========================== A few people wrote to tell me about a series that was broadcast in the UK on the BBC and a series called 'Prog at the BBC'. I didn't get a Digest out in time to let you know about it in time to watch it live. However, I got the following note about it being available on the web until Friday, Jan. 09. Thanks to all who wrote in about it but here's the info on how to view it on the web: From: mikebrothwell Sent: Saturday, January 03, 2009 5:09 AM To: elp-digest Subject: URGENT ELP on BBC4 - Only Available until 9 January 2009 John, The BBC in the UK are showing some programmes on ‘prog’ rock on 2, 3 and 4 January 2009 on BBC4 television. These include a documentary on the 1973 ELP tour when Greg had laryngitis in Vienna, which is due to go out at 21.40 UK time Saturday 3 January 2009. There are other programmes which include interviews with Carl and other ‘prog’ rockers including grumpy old rock star Rick Wakeman and extracts from a programme from the 1960s/70s called the Old Grey Whistle Test, which was the best UK programme for such music in its day. For those outside of UK these should be available on BBC i-player for view or download at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ for one week after transmission. Hence the urgent date of 9 January to catch the last day for viewing. I don’t know if you will be able to publicise this in time for people to see, but worth a try. It is 25 years since I last saw the ELP documentary so I am really looking forward to seeing it again tonight and I have the video set up ready to record.
