Why Did They Break Up in the Late '70s?

They were exhausted. Greg Lake told "Progression" in late 1994 that they perhaps should have taken a break earlier than 1975, done their solo stuff and returned refreshed in the late '70s. In that way, they may have kept going throughout the '80s. He also said that people have the image of their having all these rows, however, he denied that that was the case.

For outsiders its however difficult not to feel that internal tensions and differences after having worked so close and intense together for so many years still may have contributed!
