Why does one sometimes hear that ELP is kitsch?
Because in some circles, it's a crime to reinterprete classical pieces
(not being understood that sometimes there can be valid and good
interpretations), perform with great showmanship, and stab daggers in
one's Hammond, as was the kind of revolutionary stage style for great
instrumentalists like Hendrix and Emerson from the late '60s.
